PEMBROKE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County Emergency Management announced that storm debris clean-up from the May 26 EF-2 tornado will begin on Monday, June 3.

Those with vegetative debris on their property from Sunday’s storms such as trees and tree limbs should place the debris along the roadway for crews to come by and pick it up. Debris should not be placed near street signs, fire hydrants, power poles or their stabilizing cables, according to CCEM.

Debris pick up will start in the southwest portion of the county in the Binns Mill Road, Simmons Lane, Simmons Cemetery Road, Striped Bridge Road and Walnut Lane area. Crews from Christian County Road Department say they will work as quickly and safely as possible to clear the littered areas.

On Monday, only vegetative debris will be removed which excludes tree stumps, root balls, and construction debris. Further clean-up dates will be announced soon.
