HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes are waiting to be adopted at the Christian County Animal Shelter. The shelter is at 2935 Russellville Road, and the phone number is 270-887-4175. Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and the shelter is closed for lunch from 12:30-1 p.m.

Meet Virgil! This handsome guy is an eight-year-old Chihuahua mix, and he is currently seeking out his forever home! Virgil was found as a stray and was never reclaimed, now this sweet angel is available for adoption. We do not know how Virgil does with cats or other dogs, but we do offer trial adoptions and meet and greets! This little guy is a total lovebug, he just wants to be held and snuggled, he would do great with older children. We do not know if Virgil is house, or crate trained, but he isn’t too old to learn! Meet Simba! This beautiful boy is a six-week-old orange domestic shorthair kitten, and he is currently looking for his purrfect home! Simba was found as a stray and brought to the shelter in order to find a loving family! This goofy is boy is young and should have no issue adjusting to a home with both cats and dogs! Not only is Simba goofy, he’s sweet and loves to cuddle and would be great for a home with kiddos! Simba is litterbox trained, FIV/FLV/HW negative, and UTD on vaccinations!
