Roger “Rock” Hancock, age 72 of Hopkinsville, passed away on Tuesday, November 12th at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, Kentucky of natural causes.
Roger was born June 11, 1952, in Cadiz, Kentucky son of the late Claude and Margie Choate Hancock.
Roger worked in factories, was a semi-truck driver and drove an expedited delivery van before retiring. He loved to go gambling and his favorite “exercise” was chasing his dog, Fancy and trying to hold his chair down.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy, David and Jimmy Hancock and three sisters, Betty Choate Mart, Ruth Hancock Creekmur and Barbara Hancock Benedict. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Hancock of Hopkinsville; a son, Dale Hancock of Ohio; a daughter, Kim Whaley of Maryland; three stepdaughters, April Heard of Glasgow, Jennie Heard and TerriLynn Ortiz both of California; three brothers, Lacy, Douglas and Jack Hancock; four sisters, Claudia Helen Bala, Delores Holiday, Jill Starkey and Jennette Hancock; three grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Brendon Whaley; two step grandchildren, Zach and Thomas Shaw and one step great grandchild, Trinity.
The family chose cremation. There will be no services.
