OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The newly reinstated Oak Grove neighborhood watch program is inviting the community to the committee’s first meeting on Nov. 21 at the Oak Grove Community Center at 5:30 p.m.
In 2018, Oak Grove began a neighborhood watch after several complaints about the rise in crime. However, the group fell apart during the pandemic. Since the hiatus, councilwoman Janet Edwards along with residents Breanna Cash and Yvonne Castleberry have been working to bring the program back to life.
“The meeting is open to anyone and we’re going to go over a few things and come up with a regular day and time to have future meetings,” said Edwards.
The group will act as an active neighborhood watch for all residents to participate in. It will not be a patrol group, Edwards previously told Christian County Now. “It will act as an informational group to keep residents safe and informed,” she said.
