HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Hopkinsville man was arrested after firing a shot out of his window and through a house across the street early Tuesday morning.

Officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department were called to Faulkner Street around 1 a.m. on Dec. 3 where a shot was fired through a resident’s front wall. The resident and another person were both in the room when the shooting occurred, a bullet was later found on their living room floor.

Shortly after the officers arrived, a 27-year-old man living across the street walked over to check on the residents, saying he was asleep until he heard police arriving. Officers walked back to the man’s home for more questions, where a bullet hole was discovered in his front window which faced the house where the bullet was found, according to a police report.

A protective sweep was done of the man’s home to check for anyone who may have been injured, a spent shell casing was found in plain view on his living room floor. Marijuana and several rounds of ammunition were also found including flanged ammunition and green tip rifle ammunition. Two firearms were also located, one which was confirmed stolen from Owensboro, Kentucky.

The suspect is facing four charges including wanton endangerment, receiving stolen property, using restricting ammo, and possession of marijuana.
