James Richard Thomas, Jr. age 89, of Hopkinsville passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date.
Mr. Thomas was born on December 15, 1934, in Wardell, MO, the son of the late James Richard Thomas, Sr. and June Walker Thomas. James was a farmer and a member of Kelly Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Thomas; his sons, Michael and Ric Thomas; his brother Danny Thomas and his great granddaughter, Willow.
His survivors include his sons, Kenneth (Jennifer) Thomas of Murray, and James “Jimbo” Richard Thomas, III; his daughter, Teresa (Chris) Knox of White Plans; his sister, Patricia Ann Ward of MO; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
