HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County Sheriff’s deputies were led on a car chase along Pembroke Road early Monday morning as a driver refused to pull over.

The driver was speeding through the Edwards Mill Road area and was initially caught going 94 mph in a 55 mph zone.

A news release from the Sheriff’s Office describes Deputy Collings pursuit. “When Collings attempted to stop the vehicle, (the driver) sped up and attempted to elude officers, reaching speeds of a 100 mph. He was observed cutting off vehicles and making aggressive turns. Collings pursued him all the way to the parking lot of TGASK off Frank Yost Lane, where he stopped and was taken into custody without incident.”

The deputy reported the driver saying he was running late to work and should have pulled over but decided not to. He is facing eight charges including reckless driving and no registration plates.
