OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A field of yellow sunflowers will soon be blooming along the War Memorial Walking Trail in Oak Grove, marking the arrival of spring. This beautiful display is expected to draw visitors to take pictures and enjoy the beauty.

Last year, Oak Grove Tourism introduced the sunflower patch shaped in the form of a “V.” This year, they are expanding their vision and creating a larger display in a square formation. Traci Cunningham, Director of Visit Oak Grove said that several people use it as a photo spot.

Currently, Visit Oak Grove is busy preparing the ground, tilling the soil in anticipation for upcoming planting. They are scheduled to plant the sunflowers mid-April, and the flowers should bloom quickly for everyone to enjoy.

The sunflower patch will be located near the historic Oak Grove 1890’s schoolhouse at the War Memorial Park, 101 Walter Garrett Lane.
