HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Flood Watch has been issued for Christian County by the National Weather Service from April 2 at 1 p.m. through April 6 at 1 p.m. Rain and storms coming through beginning on Wednesday will bring flash flooding and flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
“A frontal boundary draped across our region will be the focus of numerous rounds of heavy rainfall Wednesday afternoon through Saturday. Significant flooding and flash flooding is expected,” said a public statement from NWS Paducah.

As of March 31, NWS is predicting historic levels of rainfall to occur in Christian County and the surrounding Pennyrile Region. Numerous rounds of heavy showers and storms are expected to bring anywhere from eight to ten inches of rain to Hopkinsville.
Significant flash flooding is expected, especially along bodies of water. Severe thunderstorms are expected Wednesday into Wednesday night, with chances lingering into Thursday.
