HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The application period is now open for the 2025-2026 Leadership Christian County class, with the goal of identifying and cultivating the leadership potential within the local community. The program brings together individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, who have a demonstrated talent and commitment for leadership, and who are interested in helping direct the future of Hopkinsville and Christian County.

“The program is an opportunity to awaken the leader within you allowing you to transform your potential into a reality and embark on a path of discovery and achievement,” said Leadership Chair Wende Aldridge.

The nine-month program looks for tomorrow’s community ambassador and civic leaders. It is a chance to enhance leadership, network and deeper understanding of the community.

Lucas Stagner, incoming chair said, “The Leadership Christian County class offers participants a great educational opportunity to better understand our community while expanding and developing their network of contacts. In addition, this program inspires a higher level of civic and community energy and gives the participants the opportunity to meet local leaders, broadening their exposure to current issues and perspectives.

An electronic application is to be completed online at https://www.christiancountychamber.com/leadership-program/. The application deadline is Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Questions about the program or the application can be directed to the Chamber at 270-885-9096.

Application and expectations

Admission is competitive and limited to 20 participants. All applications will be confidentially reviewed by the selection committee. Applicants must live or work in Christian County and be able and willing to commit to all the program requirements listed in the application. Applicants must also have the full support of the organization or business they represent to commit the time and effort required by the program.

“The 39-year-old program’s success that has made its mark on many of today’s leaders is dependent on the differing perspectives brought together representing a broad sector of businesses, organizations, and demographic makeup. Seeing the community through many lenses removes the blinders of possibilities in shaping our community to be an even better place to live, work, play, learn and visit,” said Taylor Hayes, President/CEO, Christian County Chamber of Commerce.

Because acceptance to the Leadership Program is selective, attendance at each and every session, class and activity is mandatory. This includes the opening and closing retreats, the monthly class days, and any other time that is required to fulfill the programs, projects, and community service events.

A fee is charged for the Leadership Program, which covers all meals, transportation, and instructional materials used throughout the course. The fee is $750 for Chamber members and $800 for non-members. A limited number of partial scholarships may be available for hardship situations.
