HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A woman in Hopkinsville was arrested Monday night after methamphetamine was found in the room of two children, age 1 and 3.

A release from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Oct. 3, Deputy Andy Spann arrived at the 1000 block of Pyle Lane in Hopkinsville. The woman he encountered on the scene was visibly under the influence of an illegal narcotic. Deputies reported she had slurred speech and “extraordinarily dilated” eyes.

The room the woman shared with her two nieces was searched, and meth paraphernalia was found near the children’s toys and throughout the room. It was determined by Spann that the narcotics would be easily accessible to the children and had the potential to cause fatal injury to them.

The woman, who is from Cadiz, and was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree.
