HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man who was attempting to break into a church while carrying synthetic drugs.

On Oct. 3, deputies responded to a burglary call at Judges Chapel Church located in north Christian County. The news release reported that someone was attempting to gain entry to the church, and then fled. A witness gave a description of the vehicle to deputies, who were able to locate the suspect a short time later on Crofton Fruit Hill Road.

Deputies report that K9 units on scene found around 20 grams of suspected synthetic drugs, a pipe, and gabapentin pills. The man confessed to the attempted break in and is facing five charges including attempted burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.
