HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The Christian County Chamber of Commerce has announced the return of Slay the Clay, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24 at Cross Creek Clays. This annual event engages businesses, community leaders, and outdoor enthusiasts in a spirited day of competition and networking all while supporting the Chamber’s mission to strengthen business and grow community.

Presented by Planters Bank, Slay the Clay has become one of the Chamber’s most anticipated fall events. Teams will compete in a sporting clay shoot while enjoying sponsor hospitality, prizes, awards, and networking opportunities.

“We are thrilled to bring this event back again,” said Michael McCoy, Director of Events and Marketing of the Christian County Chamber of Commerce. “Slay the Clay not only provides a fun and competitive environment but also serves as a powerful reminder of the support and engagement our business community brings to the table.”

Sponsorship opportunities and community partnership

Sponsorships are a key part of the event’s success. Some of the returning sponsors include the lunch sponsor, United Southern Bank, with lunch being provided by Chamber Member Kelvin Grubbs – owner of local food truck G’s Bar-b-que, along with McAfee Electric returning as Cart Sponsor. Additional opportunities are still available, including Station Sponsors.

A highlight of Slay the Clay is the involvement of the Christian County 4-H Sharp Shooters Club, who serve as the event’s official trappers. In recognition of their role and support, the Chamber will once again make a donation to the organization, helping further their mission of youth development through shooting sports.
