HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – In honor of the 70th anniversary of the Kelly Green Men encounter, the first ever GobinCon UFO & Paranormal Expo highlighted the area’s famous supernatural connection while inviting in enthusiasts for a fun, two-day experience.
On Oct. 17- 18, paranormal fans from as far as Germany arrived at The Bruce to shop vendors, talk to experts, and attend presentations about anything from alien invasions, to Mothman, to Big Foot. Presented by Visit Hopkinsville, the expo was the brainchild of Executive Director Amy Rogers who was fulfilling her vision of highlighting the city’s connection to the paranormal with this event as well as Alien Invasion Day.

“This was a dream for me,” said an emotional Rogers, reflecting on the positive response and high attendance. “I am very happy about this, I am already thinking about next year…this just means so much to me, and it worked!”
A free arcade was set up as part of the expo, as well as a costume contest, bouncy houses for kids, and exclusive GoblinCon merchandise. Rogers even handmade a variety of resin coasters and memorabilia to sell at the event herself.
This expo was a citywide affair, with local restaurants like The Mixer and Camo Caravan releasing exclusive menu items, Hopkinsville Brewing Company serving up paranormal inspired beer, and the movie theater showing discounted alien flicks all weekend among other collaborations.
“We want to bring people inside the city, but we also want to cater to the needs of the people inside the community,” said Rogers. “It has made my heart just sing and I am so appreciative.”
