HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Sheriffs Office is hosting a Paws and Claws adoption event on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in honor of Adopt-a-Dog-Month.

Since 1981, American Humane has celebrated “Adopt-a-Dog Month” each October in an effort to help the estimated 3-4 million animals waiting in shelters every year get the loving, forever homes that they deserve, according to a press release from CCSO.

The event will feature multiple local rescue agencies, and have pets on hand, ready to be taken home. The following agencies will be at the Paws and Claws event:

  • Christian County Animal Shelter
  • Christian County Humane Society
  • Max’s Hope Pet Rescue
  • Moving Mountains for Mastiffs

Pet Lodge will also be there, offering free nail clippings for your existing pets, and the Christian County Animal Shelter will be offering micro-chipping for $8.00 to reduce lost pets in the area.

The event will be located at the Christian County Sheriffs Office at 701 West 7 Street. It will also feature food trucks and door prizes.
