HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – 13 festive displays are being set up at Little River Park for Christmas. Located downtown across from Founders Square, this includes a lighted fountain, small tunnel and other themed decorations. When completed, people can walk the small trail and enjoy the free display.

Blane Ezell, Hopkinsville City Grounds Maintenance Superintendent, said work is still being done to get this area ready, with the intent to have it turned on every night starting the Monday after Thanksgiving. Eight dedicated crew members with City Grounds maintenance have been preparing since October, with Ezell saying that they are using their years of service and knowledge to prep, install, and maintain the lights throughout the season.

In addition to the Little River Park lights, these crews along with HES are also responsible for eight different displays at the Trail of Tears Commemorative Park, and 60 lighted snowflakes down Fort Campbell Boulevard. They also installed the garland at downtown intersections and over a dozen wreaths on light poles.

The Christmas tree at Founders Square will be lit up on Dec. 13 after the parade, which is decorated by Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation.
