HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – An Indiana man was placed under arrest Monday after leading police in an off-road pursuit in a utility vehicle through multiple inches of snow in Hopkinsville.
On Jan. 26 around 5:20 p.m., officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a four-door Polaris Ranger UTV that had been reported stolen. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Michael Ravenscroft, drove away at a high rate of speed, traveling off the road through multiple snow and ice-covered fields.
An arrest report from HPD says the two passengers told the driver to stop, but he continued to drive in the snow, eventually going over the edge of an embankment near the 5000 block of Lafayette Road in Hopkinsville.
The driver was found to have a suspended license and was placed under arrest. He is being charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing police, wanton endangerment, and unlawful imprisonment.
