OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A woman that was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident in Oak Grove on Saturday has died as a result of her injuries, prompting an investigation by Kentucky State Police.

According to a news release, she has been identified as 39-year-old Elizabeth Lubke of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Lubke was a passenger in one of vehicles and was airlifted to a hospital in Tennessee, where she later succumbed to her injuries on March 30. KSP says the second passenger who was airlifted is expected to recover.

The accident occurred on March 28 around 5:30 p.m. near Exit 86 of I-24. Three vehicles were involved in the accident, with one flipping over into the median. A total of five people were treated for injuries, including some children.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by Trooper Nathan Pedigo (U/789) of the Kentucky State Police.
