Updated 3:26 p.m. The shooting victim has been identified as 19-year-old Jordan Jones. The Christian County Coroner confirmed that he died as a result of his injuries at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hopkinsville Police is investigating after a man was found critically injured in a vehicle with a gunshot wound Wednesday afternoon.
Just before 12:30 p.m. on May 27, Hopkinsville Police and emergency crews responded to a subject who was shot at the 1200 block of Walnut Street near East 12th Street. An adult male was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest, actively bleeding inside a vehicle.
Payton Rogers, spokesperson for Hopkinsville Fire/EMS, told Christian County Now that crews worked aggressively to treat the man. He was ultimately transported with CPR in progress to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
According to Officer Justin Rios with HPD, no arrests have been made in connection to this incident so far. This area of the roadway is shut down for the duration of the investigation.
