CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman for assault after she was accused of hitting three people with her car Monday night.
On July 20 at 11:31 pm deputies were called to the hospital for two people who were struck by a vehicle during a disturbance by a hit and run. A news release from CCSO says the incident occurred near the 4000 block of Lafayette Road, which was initiated when 19-year-old Christian Babb of Hopkinsville unlawfully entered an apartment and assaulted a woman inside.
The argument continued outside between Babb and two other women, with Babb putting her vehicle in reverse with the door still open, hitting a woman and a man with the door, according to the sheriff’s office. Babb then accelerated forward, hitting the second woman before leaving the scene.
Both women suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital via private vehicle.
Babb later drove to the sheriff’s office and spoke with deputies about the incident. She was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, second-degree burglary, leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance, second-degree assault, and second-degree assault domestic violence.
