HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Hopkinsville man was recently arrested for threatening a victim at the local walking trail and following them down North Drive to expose his genitals.
On July 23, officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department were dispatched to the area of 495 North Drive in reference to a disturbance. The victim said he was walking on the Hopkinsville Greenway around 6:30 p.m., when he saw the suspect walking ahead of him talking to himself.
When he exited the trail to the parking lot on North Drive, the suspect threatened to kill him and called him an “anti-gay” slur before pulling out a knife and walking toward the victim, according to an arrest report from HPD.
The suspect began following him down North Drive near the pharmacy and then pulled down his pants to expose his genitals while exclaiming additional threats and using a slur.
The suspect was identified as Roberto Rivera of Hopkinsville, who was located at a nearby gas station with a knife in his pocket. He was arrested by HPD and is being charged with wanton endangerment and indecent exposure.
