HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Locally owned Herb Hays Furniture & Mattress, which was founded in Hopkinsville in 1961, has announced they are permanently closing their doors.
The following statement was posted on the Herb Hays Facebook page on Aug. 12, “This is a bittersweet time, but also a time to celebrate 65 years of wonderful customers, dedicated staff, lasting friendships and countless memories…from all the Herb Hays Furniture family to you, thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives and homes for 65 years.”
The store was founded by Herb and Marilyn Hays, and is now owned by their daughter, Lee Ann Naghtin. In a video message, Naghtin said she made the difficult decision to retire after much thought.
An official closing date has not been set at this time, but details about a retirement celebration will be announced soon.
