CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – With the last Bale Trail created in Christian County in 2024, this year 4-H is bringing back the fall tradition, and they are looking for the community to participate.
Registration is open for this year’s Bale Trail until Sept. 29, and entries must be completed by Oct. 2. People can either create a small hay masterpiece using square hay and straw bales, or they compete in the large category with round bales. First and second place will be awarded in each category along with the People’s Choice Award. The entry fee is $40, which helps benefit local 4-H activities.
Past displays have included using haybales to make a tractor, water tower, Minions and more. Displays will be visible from the roadway to allow residents to drive by and enjoy the route that will be mapped out for the public after all entries are submitted. They will stay in place through Oct. 31 for the community to see.
The creations will be judged on originality, creative use of materials and overall effect. Winners will be announced on Oct. 6. This is open to businesses, families and organizations within Christian County.
