HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Hopkinsville business was severely damaged Tuesday night after a truck went through a wall of their building.
At approximately 9:31 p.m. on Sept. 29, Hopkinsville Fire Department Fire and EMS personnel responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a vehicle that struck a building in the 1900 block of Russellville Road.
Upon arrival, HFD personnel found a vehicle that had left the roadway and traveled through the wall of a business. The vehicle’s sole occupant had exited through the sunroof prior to the arrival of first responders, according to HFD.
He was evaluated by EMS and transported to Jennie Stuart Health with non-life-threatening injuries. HFD says the collision caused significant damage to the building, raising concerns about its structural integrity. Out of an abundance of caution, utilities to the building were shut off and the building was evacuated until a proper structural safety assessment can be completed.
Hopkinsville Police are investigating.
