Hopkinsville, KY – Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes are waiting to be adopted at the Christian County Animal Shelter. The shelter is at 2935 Russellville Road, and the phone number is 270-887-4175. Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and the shelter is closed for lunch from 12:30-1 p.m.
Meet Marilyn, a stunning 12-week-old black & silver DMH with the sweetest little face and a heart that’s just waiting for someone to give her a chance!
Marilyn came to us as a stray, so the shelter world is still a little overwhelming for this petite girl. She can be shy at first, but underneath that cautious exterior is a young kitten who is ready to learn what it means to be loved. Give her a little patience, a little encouragement, and a safe place to call home — and we think Marilyn will be opening her heart before you know it!
She’s already been doing great with the other kittens she has been housed with, which is a wonderful start! We aren’t sure yet how she feels about dogs or children, but at only 12 weeks old, Marilyn is at an amazing age for continued socialization and learning.
And guess what? She’s ready to start her adoption journey!
Marilyn has received her:
- Vaccines
- Flea & tick treatment
- Dewormer
She will need to stay with us for her spay, but she can still be adopted now! Her forever family can claim her today and bring her home once her spay is completed. Her adoption fee goes back up to $63.60.
Meet Smokey, at 12 years young, this handsome grey gentleman has spent enough time wondering where he belongs. Now, he’s hoping someone will see his sweet face, his loving personality, and that absolutely ADORABLE crinkly ear, and say, “You’re coming home with me.”!
Smokey arrived at the shelter as a stray and, sadly, no one ever came to reclaim him. But we refuse to let that be the end of his story. This sweet boy deserves to spend his golden years curled up in a warm bed, surrounded by love, and finally knowing he is HOME.
A little about Smokey:
- 12-year-old grey DSH
- Very sweet and lovable
- Sports the CUTEST crinkly ear!
- Neutered
- Microchipped
- Vaccinated
- Has received flea & tick prevention
- Has been dewormed
- Adoption fee is FULLY SPONSORED!
WHAT ABOUT OTHER CATS?
Smokey hasn’t shown much reaction to the cats he has encountered at the shelter. However, shelter behavior can be different from behavior in a home, so we simply aren’t sure how he would do with another cat.
DOGS ARE A HARD NO!
Smokey has a deep-rooted hatred of dogs, so he MUST go to a NO-DOG home. He deserves a peaceful environment where he can relax, feel safe, and enjoy his retirement years without any canine roommates.
At 12 years old, Smokey isn’t asking for much. He’s looking for LOVE, COMFORT, a cozy place to nap, and someone who will love that crinkly little ear as much as we do.
And with his adoption fee FULLY SPONSORED, there’s one less barrier standing between Smokey and his happily FUR-EVER after! His adoption fee is partially sponsored by PAWS in Lyon County, Inc.
