HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Motorists traveling U.S. 68 (Seventh Street) in Hopkinsville should expect delays Thursday and Friday, Oct. 8-9, as crews pave a temporary widening that will be used for an upcoming traffic shift.

Paving is scheduled from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. This work is part of the $11.6 million project to widen 1.07 miles of U.S. 68 between KY 91 and KY 1007 (North Drive) to three lanes, with gutters and sidewalks.

Motorists should expect frequent truck traffic entering and exiting the highway during the work, which will likely result in delays. Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route, if possible.

Those traveling through the work zone should use caution, reduce their speed and remain alert for construction personnel, equipment and changing traffic conditions.
