CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Just over a dozen businesses and organizations in Christian County participated in this year’s Bale Trail, facilitated by the local 4-H club.
A map released by Christian County 4-H shows where the community can drive by to see these displays through the end of October. Several can be found in downtown Hopkinsville with the Christian County Extension Office and a local farm also putting creating their own hay art, some of which are pictured below.

People were able to either create a small hay masterpiece using square hay and straw bales, or they could compete in the large category with round bales. First and second place will be awarded in each category along with the People’s Choice Award. The entry fee was $40, which helps benefit local 4-H activities.
According to their website, 4-H is a youth organization committed to building outstanding leaders with marketable skills to succeed in today’s global society. 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults. The four H’s represent the idea of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. These are the values members work on through fun and engaging programs.
