PEMBROKE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A tobacco barn burned down Saturday evening, with smoke and flames visible for several miles.

On Oct. 10 just after 6 p.m., the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported that traffic on Long Pond Road was impacted due to a barn fire. Pembroke Fire Department confirmed that the fire took place a tobacco barn, with Fairview, Honey Grove and Oak Grove Fire Department’s also responding.

The barn was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived, with multiple adjacent structures threatened as exposures. Pembroke FD said swift defensive operations were able to protect these surrounding structures, but the barn was deemed a total loss.

No injuries were reported.
