OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – As the holiday season approaches, active-duty military and veterans in Christian County have a chance to receive a free turkey ahead of Thanksgiving.
The giveaway will take place on Nov. 19 through a partnership with Southwestern Kentucky Military Affairs Committee and Oak Grove Racing & Gaming. The MAC said, “Join us as we hand out turkeys to our military community and help make the holidays a little brighter for the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
11 a.m. to 12 p.m. is reserved exclusively for active-duty military. After 12 p.m., military families, first responders and veterans are welcome to come through while supplies last. Each person with a valid DOD ID will receive one frozen turkey.
Vehicles will drive through the Equestrian Center Parking Lot at 777 Winners Way where volunteers will pass the food.
