CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Whitney Holland was officially sworn into the Christian County Board of Education during the Nov. 5 meeting. Representing District 5, Holland was victorious during the Nov. 3 general election against two other candidates.

For the past 12 years, Tom Bell served on the school board for District 5, acting as Chair of the board before resigning in August. Because the seat was vacant, Holland was elected to fill the remainder of the unexpired term, allowing her to begin serving immediately instead of waiting until January to step into the role.

“I am truly humbled and honored by the trust the voters have placed in me,” said Holland. “I look forward to listening, learning, collaborating, and working hard to make decisions that put our students first and support the people who make our schools successful. I am excited to get to work.”

Holland received 52.20% of the votes, just under 450 more votes than Robert Webb.

Holland is a 2004 graduate of Christian County High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Murray State University and a doctorate degree from Belmont College of Pharmacy. She has worked as a pharmacist at Walmart Pharmacy for 11 years and completed Leadership CCPS in 2025-2026.

She continues to serve her community through the Millbrooke PTO and the Spina Bifida Association of Kentucky, according to CCPS.
