OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christmas in the Grove is coming back for the third time to Oak Grove on Friday, Dec. 15, at 5 – 8 p.m.
The annual event will feature a parade with Christmas floats and special guest Santa Claus, who will light the Christmas tree at the end. Anyone interested can participate in the parade and most decorate their vehicle or ride along in a golf cart.
“This year we have quite a few entries for the parade that have some really good ideas, ” said Oak Grove Tourism spokesperson Scarlett Mayfield. “I am excited to see how those turn out.”
After the parade and tree lighting, everyone will head over to Santa’s workshop, explains Mayfield. “That’s where we have converted our school house into this beautiful Hallmark movie workshop.”
The first 120 kids at Santa’s workshop will receive a goody bag and every kid will be able to receive a picture with Santa. While waiting in line, families will be able to have free hot chocolate and cookies. “It’s a really nice event for the community,” Mayfield said.
Christmas in the Grove is expecting 200-500 people. “We like to partner with the city and get them as involved as possible,” Mayfield said. “Overall people can expect a lot of Christmas spirit, creativity and a fun night.”
The event will take place at the War Memorial Trail Park located at 101 Walter Garrett Lane. For more information about all things Oak Grove visit their website www.visitoakgroveky.com.
