HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – With winter weather rapidly approaching, the Christian County Public School System wants to make sure families are aware of their inclement weather notification and closure plans.

“Unfortunately, closings, delays, early dismissals or cancellations of school, athletic games, practices or other school events are sometimes unavoidable. The safety of our students and staff is always a top priority,” said CCPS in a message to families.

The schools in Christian County will be working with local weather and emergency management teams so families will be alerted of closures by 5:30 a.m. Families will be directly notified through the Infinite Campus Messaging all-call system if there are delays or closings, plus there will be posts on the CCPS social media.

If there is a cancelation, a decision will be made if the day will follow non-tradition instruction procedures.

An NTI day would mean students are still expected to remotely complete school tasks from home. For elementary students, they would find work on Google Classroom, middle and high school students would log on Canvas. Teachers may also preassign packets or work. Students will be able to communicate with teachers on the Dojo or Remind apps.

They encourage families to make sure their contact information is updated in the Campus Parent Portal to ensure people are getting the necessary updates. For more information regarding CCPS inclement weather procedures, visit the Christian County Public School website.
