HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The downtown restaurant The Mixer is reopening on New Year’s Eve in a special auction event for tables and booths.
The restaurant, bar and bakery was destroyed by a storm in March. Straight-line 90 mph winds took out the second floor of the building, including tearing off the roof. Since then, owners Heather and Graham Dawson have been working tirelessly to bring their business back to Hopkinsville.
Although The Mixer planned to reopen in January, Heather Dawson has shared the news about the New Year’s Eve launch. “We cannot wait, Hoptown,” said Heather. “We are opening back up and we have missed you.”
Auctions were available for popular tables such as The Founders Square table which sat eight, and bar booths which could sit two or four people. Although bidding is closed, tickets will be available for the event by the end of the week, according to Heather Dawson. The dinner will include two dinner settings and a five-course meal with special wine pairings.
The menu will include new items such as roasted herb and garlic focaccia, honey almond goat cheese salad, braised pork shank, filet medallion, and a choice of either traditional or limoncello tiramisu.
The event will also include live music from Cayce Burks and The Moonlight Band.
