HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – On Nov. 19, a wallet was stolen from an unlocked car on Sunnyvale Lane, says a report from Hopkinsville Police Department. The wallet contained the owners credit card, license and social security card. Soon after the theft was reported to HPD, the card was used for multiple transactions at the Casey’s General Store near the victim’s home. The suspect was not caught.

On Dec.7, the same suspect was arrested for a different crime, and was still in possession of the victim’s social security card and license. After officers went through Casey’s security footage from November, they determined he was the person that initially used the victims credit card.

Officers were able to bring the suspect in to interview yesterday where he admitted to using the card while under the influence of multiple drugs. He is facing three charges including identity theft.
