HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man was charged after firing a shot into the window of a neighbor’s house on Gale Lane in Hopkinsville Sunday afternoon.

According to a report from Hopkinsville Police Department, the suspect shot his firearm accidentally, and bullet travelled through the front door of his house and went across the street to his neighbor’s house. The neighbor told officers she found the bullet in her son’s bedroom and saw the window had a hole in it.

The suspect was also injured when the gun went off. He told officers he was trying to lock the slide on the gun when the shot fired. After further investigation it was found the gun had been stolen.

The suspect was arrested and charged with five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
