HOPKINSVILLE, KY – At the Oct. 16 Board meeting, Christian County Public Schools announced K’Veon Ivory and Karla Quintanilla as the two student-elected representatives to serve on the Board of Education. Chosen by their peers at each high school, the students will attend monthly Board meetings, attend official gatherings and events, give Board presentations, and answer questions from Board members during Board meetings. The students are non-voting members and will not participate in closed-session meetings.
“It’s an honor to once again welcome two outstanding CCPS high school students to serve on our Board,” said CCPS Superintendent Chris Bentzel. “Our student board members bring valuable insight and ensure that student voices remain at the heart of our decision-making. As we enter our fourth year of this successful initiative, it continues to reflect our commitment to viewing students as essential partners in shaping the future of Christian County Public Schools.”

K’Veon is a senior at Christian County High School and the son of Shaterra Babb and Kortez Ivory. In 2022, Christian County Schools joined other districts across the state of Kentucky to begin the initiative of student representatives serving on their Boards.
