HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The driver and a passenger of a semi-truck were transported to Tennova in Clarksville, Tennessee after their vehicle tipped over on I-24 Sunday evening.

The semi-truck was travelling on the westbound lane of the interstate near the 84-mile marker when it crashed and tipped over on its side around 4:30 p.m. A report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office states that the 45-year-old driver was trapped inside the cabin when crews arrived and appeared to be having a seizure.

A witness following directly behind the semi at the time of the accident notified authorities that the truck was travelling around 40 mph when it slowly began to merge into the westbound lane, hitting the center median cable barrier, and then rolling over onto its side.

Both lanes of the interstate were blocked for an extended period of time, with a single lane opening around 5:30 p.m. Ambulance crews and law enforcement were on scene to help clear any debris before opening the interstate back up around 10:30 p.m., according to Christian County Emergency Management.
