OAK GROVE, KY – On April 13, Oak Grove Police officers responded to a 911 hang-up call on Arkansas Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered one individual deceased and attempted to negotiate with another person who had sustained gunshot wounds.

At approximately 2 a.m., dispatchers received a 911 call; however, no information was provided by the caller, prompting them to ping the location of the phone. The call was traced to a residence on Arkansas Avenue.

Oak Grove Police Officers arrived at the home to check on the occupants. Upon their arrival, officers heard a gunshot and found a deceased person just inside the home. A second individual, armed and injured, was barricaded in a back room.

Officers attempted negotiations, but their efforts were unsuccessful. When additional units from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office and Hopkinsville Police arrived, Oak Grove Officers entered the home and conducted a search, ultimately finding the shooter deceased from what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The names of those involved are being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
