OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Two people from Clarksville were arrested for dealing drugs and fleeing from police Sunday night at the casino in Oak Grove.

Around 8 p.m. on March 23, officers with the Oak Grove Police Department responded to reports of several individuals selling drugs at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming, & Hotel. A 23-year-old woman and 33-year-old man fled when law enforcement arrived, resulting in injuries to one officer, according to a news release from Oak Grove PD.

The two suspects were apprehended along with several others, with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office called to assist. Law enforcement reviewed surveillance footage which reportedly showed the two engaging in suspicious behavior. Deputies obtained a search warrant for their hotel room and vehicle where suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, a stolen firearm, and other drug paraphernalia was found.

They were both arrested and taken to the Christian County Jail, and the other detained individuals were released without charges. The woman is facing possession and fleeing charges, while the man is being additionally charged with trafficking in meth, receiving a stolen firearm, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

The injured officer was treated at Jennie Stuart Health and is expected to make a full recovery.
