HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Emergency Management Director, Randy Graham, confirms there was no reported damage in Christian County from this weekend’s strong storms and tornados.
The National Weather Service station in Paducah reports that a tornado did touch down in a neighboring county in Kentucky. After a survey of the area, they confirmed an EF-2 tornado passed through Todd County with wind speeds of 125 miles per hour. It started in Guthrie and ended in Allensville.
Their survey of the Todd County area also revealed hundreds of trees snapped or uprooted, at least a dozen outbuildings destroyed, including barns, sheds and garages. Plus, many homes suffered minor damage. The bulk of the damage was in Montgomery County where 90 homes were destroyed, over 600 structures were damaged, and a child died.

This tornado comes almost exactly two years after an E-4 tornado hit Western Kentucky in 2021. It had a path of over 150 miles and was one of the longest in history.
“It’s always frightening when we get to this time of the year,” said Oak Grove Mayor Jackie Oliver when remembering the 2021 storms. “People have so much more respect for the weather after they have lived through such a tragedy.”
