HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the parking lot of the Christian County Health Department Sunday evening. A 23-year-old man has been charged with shooting four people.
After an investigation, officers determined the suspect fired shots from his moving vehicle toward a crowd of people. He was driving eastbound down West Seventeenth Street in Hopkinsville at the time.
Three juveniles and one adult were shot and seriously injured, according to a news release from the Hopkinsville Police Department. Two juveniles and the adult were taken to Jennie Stuart Health, and the other juvenile was taken to Nashville in an ambulance. Their current condition is unknown.
The suspect was arrested and charged with four counts of assault in the first degree, seven counts of wanton endangerment, and one count of tampering with physical evidence. This case is still under investigation, and more arrests are pending.
