HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Three men attempted to rob a convenience store in Oak Grove, attacked a clerk, and fled the scene early Tuesday morning.

According to a news release from Oak Grove PD, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the Hiroad gas station and convenience store on Hugh Hunter Road around 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 25. Three individuals were initially removed from the premises by a clerk after they attempted to a commit a theft inside the store.

Shortly after, the suspects returned armed with weapons and attacked the clerk. After an altercation, they fled from the scene in a vehicle.  According to Oak Grove PD, officers conducted a search of the area and located the vehicle linked to the suspects.

A 46-year-old and a 26-year-old man were taken into custody with assault, menacing, shoplifting, and public intoxication charges. The third suspect has not yet been identified. He is described by Oak Grove PD as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’10” with a medium build, black hair, and brown eyes. He may have sustained injuries to his head and face during the altercation.
