HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The cast and crew of Cinderella by Campanile Productions are working hard to bring the Rodgers & Hammerstein version of Cinderella to life at the Alhambra.

“We are excited to bring Cinderella back to the community. Our cast and crew have been working hard since the beginning of January to create a beautiful show,” said Executive Director Dr. Jeff Riggs. “We cannot wait for everyone to see how spectacularly it is going to come together.”

This will be the second time Campanile is putting on this show since they began in 2009, but audiences can expect new characters, scripts updates, and new music. The show will follow a young woman named Ella who is living a life of servitude to her cruel stepmother and self-centered stepsisters, according to a news release from Campanile.

Chassity Mumford, a Hopkinsville native and signed artist with the HipHoptownUSA ARC Exhibit will be making her musical theater debut with the role of Ella. Christina Hemsath, a Clarksville resident and classically trained opera singer, will be playing Marie and the Fairy Godmother. Other returning cast members include Jackson Wells, Tate Wells, Zavier Ortiz, Ashley Yates, Kasey Miranda, and Barbie and Andy Pitts, said the news release.

“I’m forever grateful to the casting panel who chose to cast me for being this lead role,” Chassity said. “The cast has been so welcoming and sweet, and I’m especially grateful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for continuously blessing me.”

The play will run at the Alhambra March 13 through March 17. Tickets can be purchased on the Campanile Productions website.
