HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville is proud to announce that, over the past two months, it has successfully prevented the eviction of 58 families in Christian County and the surrounding area. Through its emergency assistance programs, the organization provided a total of $192,523 in rental assistance.

This critical support not only kept families in their homes and prevented them from falling into homelessness but also had a significant economic impact on the community. Every dollar of rental assistance was paid directly to local landlords and property owners, strengthening the local housing market and providing stability to both tenants and property managers alike.

“Preventing homelessness is at the heart of our mission,” said Lieutenant David Donegan, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville. “When families are able to stay in their homes, children stay in school, parents remain connected to their jobs, and our community grows stronger. At the same time, these dollars help sustain our local economy, providing direct support to landlords and property owners.”

The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville continues to provide a broad range of services to those in need across the Pennyrile region, including shelter, food assistance, case management, and housing programs. These efforts are made possible thanks to the support of generous donors, community partners, and dedicated volunteers.
