Anne P. Atkins age 92, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away Friday, April 26, 2024. Memorial Service will be held at Edgewood Baptist Church on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 3;00 PM with Rev. Brandon Boone officiating. A private burial will be at East End Cemetery in Cadiz, KY. Visitation will be at the Edgewood Baptist Church on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family with the care of their loved one.
Mrs. Atkins was born on September 25, 1931, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Claude and Lena Marlow Poindexter. Anne was a childcare giver and a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Douglas Atkins, Sr in 2009; her son, Edward Atkins, Jr.; her sister, Eleanor Lacy.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Stratton of Hopkinsville, and Patty Fussenegger (Oscar) of Shelbyville, KY; five grandchildren, Adam, Joe (Katie), Chris, and Mark Fussenegger, and Katharine Atkins; and six great-grandchildren, Ava, Lily, Sophie, and Dominic Fussenegger, Colin Atkins, and Jake Baker.
