FORT CAMPBELL, KY – Blanchfield Army Community Hospital Soldier and Family Readiness Group hosts the first Women’s Health Symposium in the hospital’s C Bldg. Atrium, May 16, 8:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. to coincide with Women’s Health Month and offer resources to promote a healthy lifestyle.
According to BACH’s Medical Readiness Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Patrick R. Glass, “The intent of this symposium is to promote women’s health during May and to heighten awareness to the BACH community of the women-centered health services available here at BACH.”
At the event, women in the Fort Campbell community can speak one-on-one with representatives from Radiology, Armed Forces Wellness Center, Women’s Health Department, Physical Therapy, Educational and Developmental Intervention Services, and Exceptional Family Member Program. These teams plan to share education on contraception options, mammography support, Centering Pregnancy, pelvic floor health, and early intervention.
Jenny Glass, BACH Soldier and Family Readiness Group advisor, highlights the importance of women’s health service offerings for women beneficiaries, “This is an opportunity to heighten awareness of what women need and what is available to make our fighting force stronger, and also what BACH can offer to our patients.”
Beyond the personal benefits gained by attendees from the supporting agencies at the health fair, the focus on overall health enables the BACH community to maintain medical readiness, which firmly supports BACH’s mission, “Without compromise, we are committed to healthcare excellence, delivering readiness for our Warfighters, Families, and Community.”
