HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hopkinsville Beautification wants to see some Halloween spirit in neighborhoods across the city with their Boo’tification Home Decorating Contest.

“I always see so many people decorating, but they never get recognition for their hard work,” said Heather Braun from Hopkinsville Beatification. In the past they have done yard and holiday decorating contests, but this is the first year of the Halloween competition. The three winners will get awards from the committee.

They are looking for creatively decorated houses or businesses. “We want to see all of your spookiest signage, eerie lighting, creepy creations, and fearsome pumpkin carvings,” they said in a post. The contest begins Oct. 1 and runs through Halloween. Three winners will be announced by Nov. 3.

People that don’t decorate for Halloween can also enter their Fall Spirit decorating contest. The goal is to spread fun through the community, and make Hopkinsville feel festive and beautiful all month long. People can enter photos of their decorations on the Hopkinsville Beautification Facebook page, or by emailing heather.braun@h-ky.us.
