HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Hopkinsville Community College recently hosted its second annual Minds in Motion Camp. This camp was coordinated by HCC’s Diversity Council and Workforce Solutions.
Multiple HCC staff and faculty along with community volunteers worked together to provide this STEM-H camp to several young men from the Men2Be youth mentoring organization in Hopkinsville.
During this four-day camp participants designed, built, and tested an electric skateboard while learning about various fields of study. They spent time learning about chemistry, math, construction, 3D printing, nursing, welding, and CDL operations as well as touring the HCC campus, and learning to ride the skateboards they built and decorated themselves.
