OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Buc-ee’s is coming to Oak Grove Kentucky a company representative told the City Council at their meeting Tuesday night, bringing about 200 jobs and a surge in local tax revenue.
“On behalf of Buc-ee’s, we are super excited to be a part of the Oak Grove community, and we are looking forward to it. It’s been a long time coming,” said Angela Janik, project coordinator with Buc-ee’s.

Janik said the closing on the property located on the other side of Interstate 24, just off of Highway 115 at Exit 89, should be completed by the end of September. “We plan on starting construction as soon as we have the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet approvals, which is hopefully by the end of the year. We are targeting a groundbreaking for 2025.”

Janik complimented city leaders for help making this happen, along with building a relationship with KYTC. Mayor Jackie Oliver says this is a very exciting thing for the community of Oak Grove.

Buc-ee’s has had its eye on the Interstate 24 corridor northwest of Nashville into Kentucky, and had been pursuing a 120-pump gas station and a 77,000-square foot building off Exit 1 in Clarksville. That fell through when the company couldn’t come to terms with the Tennessee Department of Transportation on site plans.
This plan would put the Buc-ee’s just a few miles northwest of Exit 1 at Kentucky’s Exit 89.
Buc-ee’s Travel Center was founded in 1982 by Arch “Beaver” Aplin, who later expanded his business with partner Don Wasek. The Texas-based chain is known for its massive sales floor for travelers, with signature brisket and well-maintained spacious restrooms.
