HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – An overnight foot chase led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man on Wednesday.
On Dec. 17 around 1 a.m., the Hopkinsville Police Department assisted the Christian County Sheriff’s Office with a burglary in progress call due to a 24-year-old male suspect attempting to make entry into a residence. Dispatch alerted officers that the suspect had fled the area on foot in the area of Babb Lane and Moores Drive.
HPD located the suspect before he took off on foot again and was seen throwing his backpack into the woods nearby when the K9 unit was then deployed to apprehend him. According to an arrest report, the suspect fought with the K9 in an attempt to flee before he was successfully detained near 3 a.m.
He was arrested and charged with fleeing from police and resisting arrest.
